Built solely from the hopes and dreams of ancestors whose lives were stolen, the hidden world of Seeden* has always been a haven for Muse. As Keeper* of the Conjures*, she effortlessly converts the dreams of the ancestors into flesh and grafts them onto the lives of the FourTold* just as Queen Mother had taught her. But everything Muse holds dear is shaken when the Ashen* - an insidious power seeking to obliterate all it touches - comes for Queen Mother next.
Without the guidance of Queen Mother, Muse isn’t sure she is well suited to manage the responsibilities of the newly vacant throne. And, when the relationships with her sisters disintegrate before her very eyes, Muse is certain the Queen’s last will and testament is a dire mistake. As Keepers of the FourTold, it is the duty of the four sisters to keep Seeden and its inhabitants safe. Yet, everything begins falling apart in the Queen’s unfathomable absence.
While she attempts to maintain balance between her duties as a keeper, the last wishes of Queen Mother, and the hard feelings of her sisters - Muse soon learns of a nasty secret that splinters the Keepers’ bond and threatens to undermine her ability to keep Seeden safe. Wrestling with revelations of Queen Mother’s past and whispers of a rebellion smoldering among the young FourTold, Muse struggles to be the glue that holds Seeden together while an emergent leader named Glow becomes an unforeseen force that dares to confront the Ashen head on.
As their paths intertwine and their decisions collide, Muse and Glow harness the power of their relationships and the wisdom of the ancestors to pull off a risky strategy to face the Ashen - a strategy they know will have wins and losses. Pushing the boundaries of their Disciplines*, will Muse and Glow manage to save Seeden and restore the lives held hostage in the Ashen’s evil grasp?
